Although he was born perfectly human, Salo was resurrected as an atmech -- a magitech android almost perfectly simulating a human body. His constructed nature gives him a number of benefits, including fast and clean healing from almost any injury, immunity to hostile environmental effects, and the ability to suppress his emotions at need and accelerate his thoughts to inhuman levels. It also enhances his magical capabilities, allowing him to draw on far more power than his rank and experience as a mystic would suggest.
The most notable of his new capabilities is the ability to perceive energies and signals outside of the human range of perception. Notably, he can "hear" and "see" magical energy, electronic signals and radio waves. He can also interface directly with electronic devices and has an enormous capacity to subvert and infiltrate them, ignoring or trivially bypassing any security protocol he's ever faced with in canon. He doesn't seem to need the device to have a network interface, either, just to for it to be within his sensory range.
